


A former defense attaché with the U.S. government, Don has provided senior counsel in corporate social responsibility to extractive industry clients in Africa and Asia. He has also supported a variety of humanitarian organizations in managing conflict reconciliation issues. In addition, he has advised many clients on how to build socially responsible security on their projects based on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
He was business continuity security manager for BP in Indonesia, responsible for an award-winning security program that protected assets in three remote jungle locations in Papua. His education includes a master’s degree in history from the University of Hawaii, and international security studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
