


Nestor is associate dean of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of the Philippines where he teaches courses in anthropology.
A widely respected expert on indigenous matters, Nestor has advised a broad range of extractive companies operating in the Philippines on community impact and mitigation. He received his PhD and master’s degrees in anthropology from the University of the Philippines. In addition to his work in his native country, he has conducted research throughout Southeast Asia. He has published widely and is a frequent speaker at seminars, conferences and workshops.
